Milbert’s Tortoiseshell Butterfly

Location: Wascana Marsh

 

 

 

 

Interesting facts:

– These butterflies are among the first to emerge in spring.

– They eat sap, nectar, rotting fruit, and dung.

– As caterpillars they eat only Stinging nettles.
