Greenwater Provincial Park

What I didn’t like: Only a couple of complaints for this park. The park administration/interpretive centre wasn’t open on the Labour Day long weekend. Despite its size much of the park is best accessed by snowmobile or skis.

What I liked: The park has a long beach with beautiful sand and grass to lounge on. The lake is large and clean. The hiking trails are beautiful. I preferred the Marean hiking trail which was more sheltered and had an eighteen-foot bird viewing tower. We heard loons calling on the water as we strolled the trail. The birds were elusive that morning, but over 150 species nest in the area. The amenities are centralized. The rec hall, mini golf, horse shoe pitch, arcade, store, cafe, change rooms, tennis court, laundromat, marina, playground, and cabins are all very close to the beach. The marina offers paddleboat, canoe, and ski boats rentals. We stayed at Fisherman’s Cove cabins which were adequate, however the rental cabins within the park are more modern (and I’d imagine pricier).
